In order to understand how it all works, it is best to look at the ways of installing the elements. The elements should be installed in a way which does not damage trees and does not involve driving anything into them. Platforms are therefore clamped around trees and steel ropes are placed in specially prepared pads which prevent ropes from cutting into the trunk and allow sap to circulate freely.
